ULMS Question |
Lead | |
|
Why is it the #3 car gets away with wrecking 2 cars in the first feature @ LV and no-one ever reprimands him? He clearly came up into the 01 and also stuffed
the 28 into the wall. He also was hitting the 01 under the caution. He is a racer but why doesnt someone step in and say enough is enough? Who makes the call
on something like this?I happened to be watching from turn 3 and EVERYONE there could not believe the 01 was sent to the rear.... This is not the first time he
has done this!! How about telling him to park it???

as far as the under caution deal that was all doug ricotta david pulled up and gave him the "whats up with that" question with his hands in the air
on the inside of ricotta comming out of turn 2. David gave him a few hand motions and as they passed by me the 01 clearly swerved at Davids passenger door.
Dave swerved out of his way to avoid being hit and almost hit the flagman on the backstretch. as they continued down the backstretch ricotta swerved a second
time then david swerved back into him. In my opinion they both deserved to be blacked flagged for almost hitting the official if i was pete i would have
stopped both cars and gave them what for. As far as the 01 hes no angel hes trashed enough of other peoples equipment that would last a life time
the king has spoken....

"the #3 car gets away with wrecking 2 cars in the first feature @ LV "
Slowride put a very nicely executed slidejob on Ricotta coming out of 4. Ricotta apparently did not like this and did not lift or cut Slowride any slack. There is history between these two from last season @ Bradford. As far as the Barton-Slowride incident it appeared to me that Barton lost power or slowed for some reason and Slowride was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. That one was just a racing incident from my vantage point.

Finally, a post about the first feature at LV Saturday night. As I posted a thread, I said I would keep my mouth shut, but now that others have brought it
up,,,,,,,,,
I was in turn 4. Dave Scotts right rear and Ricottas left front came together. I think they were going for 4th and 5th??? Anyhow, Ricotta ABSOUTLEY never lifted and spung out Scott. Scott tried to spin it around and stalled it. By the time he gets it fired up, the cars came back around and he chases Ricotta all the way to turn 2. As stated in an earlier post them two bounced off of each other just exiting turn 2 down the back stretch. What was not mentioned was just at the enterance on the back stretch, Scott drives up under Ricotta and lifts the rear end up, then tries to bend the left rear sheet metal into the tire. That alone would be another reason why Scott should have been sent to the pits. As stated earlier, Ricotta took out Scott but the after math took place before they sent Ricotta to the tail. The next from ULMS and/or LV comes on the restart when the cars were not lined up right coming to the green. Anyhow, I think Ruhlman and Close (not sure who being in turn 4) bring out the next caution in turn 1-2. No lap was completed. When they go to take the green flag, Scott is back up to about 5-7? Dont you revert back to the previous lap? The last altercation was for Barton, Scott and Lee. It APPEARED that Barton was slowing and Scott and Lee became part of the accident? Again, not sure from turn 4 but, it didnt seem like anyone (Scott) wrecked anyone. Now to sum it up. I'll bet the house that the word will be something like I didnt see it or it was their call not mine or vise versa, but either way, it was all messed up. IF Ricotta was going to get sent to the tail, then Scott should have been told and maybe he dont do what he did. What Scott did was wrong and he should have been sent to the pits. I thought once maybe at MCR, ULMS sent someone in for stuff like that, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, the line up deal was a JOKE. Not sure who gets this award, but LINE THEM UP RIGHT, before you throw the green. A lap cant count when a wreck occurs in turn 1-2 and nobody has gotten to the flag stand yet. Yeah Ron Davies was fast, but not that fast!! ULMS needs to be more than a ONE person series just do to the fact that more eyes can help see more things. Ricotta spun Scott and gets sent to the tail. Tell Scott that!!! Dont allow race cars to be weapons on the track!!!! Get together with the scorers and have it right before the green and when a yellow comes out!!! |

it just looked like ULMS played favoritism in the fans eyes.... i mean as fans we love confrontation at a track between drivers but when you retaliate under
caution there is no excuse for that at any track and as much as i love dave scott he should have been thrown off the track after that.... and from where i sat
it looked like barton got in the loose stuff and hit the wall by himself which then collected scott and the 61... JMO
what a great show last night tho!!!!! |

that lap did count for some reason. I was watching the lap counter and it did go to the next lap, that is why DAvid was allowed to go back to where he was. David caught up to Ricotta and asked him what the heck was that all about??? and Ricotta went right into David. it happened right in front of us. so Ricotta is not that innocent. he started that meleee then that is when David went up and got into the rear of him. |

GEEZZZZ-- I am so glad you posted that 20tsfan because that is truly what happened. As for the Barton thing it was Barton into the wall and David tried to a
void hitting Dick and got collected by another car. The Barton thing was a racing deal. David is a true competitor and if you wrong him he like any other
driver is going to pull up beside you and ask "what's the deal", NOTHING ANY OTHER DRIVER DOESN'T DO. That is what he did and then Ricotta
turned into David and maybe David did lift the rear of his car but in my opinion I would have done the same IF NOT WORSE. Do you see Barton on here saying it
was David's fault?????????? Do any of you David Scott bashers even know the guy or ever talked to him in person??? He would do anything to help out a
fellow driver and has done so many times in the pits and at his shop.
FYI---DAVID SCOTT WINS FIRST HEAT SUNDAY NIGHT AT ERIEZ AND RON DAVIES FINISHED 3RD. GOOD LUCK SLOWRIDE..................................... |

yes, Barton got into the wall and David and George lee (the 6l car) had no place to go.
that also happened right in front of us. so that was not Davids fault. dont' know what happened to BArtons car cant remember what the crew said, they were sitting right in front of us. we were helping George try to get his car back together so he could run the feature. it was too bad that happened cuz David and George were on their way to the fron. |

Not sure what ras you were watching 20tsfan.... but Ricotta dumped slowride in turn 4 (by the area of damage to both cars) Should slowride have rubbed him
under caution, not my call, thats the promoters call to make. The wreck with Barton, slowride and the 6L car was nothing but racing. Barton got squirrelly
and taged the wall, then he and the others had no place to go, nothing intentional. All in all it wasn't a bad race, with only 10 or 11 cars finishing.

fulltilt,
yes I know that Ricotta dumped Dave in turn 4. I was talking about when David went by Ricotta and asked him was that was all about. that is when Ricotta went into David on the caution. |

I am not making any posts in regards to Saturday night till I am able to talk to each driver. Half of them were contacted today.
Lot will be addressed at MCR driver meeting on 7/31 for the Eckl Memorial. I will say this.. about the two cars that many of you are talking about. They are both good drivers. Its unfortunate what happened between the two of them as they had a good battle going on before the turn 4 incident. As for the rain delay. For the fans booing that we were giving pace laps. I WAS NOT GOING TO HAVE THE DRIVERS GO RACE 105 MPH ON WET SLIPPERY RACE TRACK. We all should remember a incident a few yrs ago at a ULMS show that rain fell at the end. Last night everything that could go wrong went wrong with ULMS. A red flag in the first feature. some of the top "names" of the region involved... with pretty bad looking damage. A 7 car heat race that started 5 and ended up with 3 finishing. (talk about embarrasing and frustrating). 2 rain delays in the final feature. many pace laps trying to keep the track from getting too wet. The rain playing games.. stopping and starting .. . and then seem like it was going to stay, I made the decision to pull the cars off the track and as soon the cars leave, it stops raining... till lap 22 when I started to feel sprinkles again. Decision was made by me to end the show when it started to rain a little harder. Again, I wasnt going to have a REPEAT of a 2006 ULMS event when rain decided a chaotic finish. Laps: LV counted the laps.. if the accident was behind the leaders and they can get to the flagstand w/o racing thru the accident. This was somethign I was unaware till the lap you are discussing above. My mistake.. and it was discussed with race teams today that I talked too. MCR will count the lap if leader + one can be taken. remaining field is taken from the previous lap. I thought LV was the same. AGain as I said my mistake for not miss understanding, but some racers were also unaware of this too till today (Sunday). Again, still displeased with my own performance on Saturday. Till I talk to the remaining teams .. I take a lot of pride in the work I put into these shows.. as of now, still very down on the ULMS performace. My last post on Saturday night till all race teams are contacted. Chris |

Read on another post that the #3 was "involved" in yet another wreck last nite @ Eriez. I was not there, but I am sure that this one was not his
fault either!! I am not bashing him, like I said in my previous post, he is a racer, but @ some point he has to own up to making a mistake.

I thought this was the most inconsistant scoring I have been part of. The first feature I went around the wreck in turn 1 and 2 and never stopped. I was put
to the tail for not racing back to the line with the caution out. Brent R in the 07 also was scored wrong in the second feature because he didn't race
back to the line with the caution out. I hope the flag men on the track are aware that we are going to race each other with the caution out.
I also think the dash races are a waste of time and money. 2 weeks in a row the show could have gone a lot quicker with out the dash races. If we are going to run a dash, pay something for it. It seems pointless to run 2/3 of the field in dash races, that is what the heats are for. Run 1 dash if you feel that life won't go on with out it. Chad Ruhlman |

Like I have posted in the past, we all have our favorite drivers and stick up for or defend them until the end which is what I have always done for and with
David Scott. The only thing that was his fault this weekend was yes, maybe he shouldn't have hit Ricotta in the rear but when you are racing and something
happens you tend to get a little angry and we have ALL done things we shouldn't but there is not one driver who can tell you they have never done the same
thing. Last night David went to Eriez and yes, he was involved in yet another wreck BUT it was with a car that spun right in front of him and he had no time
to do anything. I have never driven a race car but I am sure it is not an easy thing to do and do not think that people should say "HE DID THAT
INTENTIONALLY WHEN THEY ARE SETTING IN THE STANDS". It amazes me that the David Scott bashing has been going on all year so far and none of it has ever
been deleted or mentioned by any of the moderators but I am sure if it was one of their driver's, not mentioning any names, it would not be on here for
very long. Let it go, it happened, it's over and done with. Even if David would come on here and say what you people want to hear, you would still be
runnning at the mouth about him. There are alot of other driver's who do alot of stupid $$%% and it is never mentioned on this board. If any of you
would like to step up and show your faces instead of hidding behind a board name, I am sure David would like to talk to you at the garage this week while he
spends x amount of hours repairing damage done to his car that he himself caused--------NOT.

In any other series (MACS, Outlaws, Whatever) if someone does something to someone under caution like that they are sent to the pits! END OF DISCUSSION. I
beleive David did that a few years back at a Macs race, guess what they stepped up & sent him home. If ULMS wants to let this happen I guess you can see
where he wants his series to go. As in any other case usaully the guy that retailiates gets caught & gets in trouble. I would say that ULMS was just
pleasing one of there drivers by not black flagging him. As for the slide job...if it was the other way around do you think the 3 would have lifted...NOT. It
wasn't as bad as Ruhlman trying to knock the LF off Urbans car last week at Stateline, it was extremely funny to watch him do it again with Hackett but he
overdrove it & Hackett just waited for him & said See Ya...Finally to a job well done by Doug Eck to take him out in the feature last week.

Chris,
Thanks for helping to give us Super latemodels a place to race at. I appreciate that you put so much of your own time into the ULMS and making it what it is.....You dont bring all your own scoring, or officials so your at the mercy of the tracks personel at times. Keep up the good work.... and i look forward to racing with the ULMS the next chance i get! |
