Glad you can see the point on waiting for the yellow, you sound the starter up there telling the No 7 "you were just looking for a yellow".

Hell yes Jason was looking for a yellow! When your running in second and the pin comes out of the shock on the left front and the nose of your car is digging in the track , you cannot steer very well, cannot get into the infield because of the 3' high mud berm all the way around the half mile, and you are slowing coming out of 3&4 with your hand out the window all the way down the front stretch (where the flagman is at) trying to get out of everybodys way with cars coming at you close to 100 mph. This was not a fantom mechanical error or a spin and sit. Spin and sit is one thing but due to the above Einstein logic trail it will now probably cost the No 7 several thousand dollars to fix all the mechanical damage caused by Dave Hess not seeing him slowed almost to a stop in 1 & 2 trying to get into the pits and slaming into him. If I was Dave Hess I would be equally unimpressed with the above logic as well since it tore the hell out his equipment.

Note: For the Hess fans, Before anybody takes my post wrong I am in know way blaming or saying anything bad toward Dave Hess. In my opinion he was a victim of the above logic which will now cost him some unnessary money.


I wasn't referring to the incident with the #7. It's the 10 or so times a night that the sit and spin happens that causes a flagman's attitude. In Jason's case, I hate it for him, as there are only 2 driver's t shirts in our house...Jason's and Close's. In all honesty, the corner workers are the eyes and ears for the flagman, and the way the #7 was humped over, should have made it obvious that there was a problem. that info should have been relayed to the stand for a 'real' caution. You do have to admit that about 90% of the single car spins resulting in cautions end up with the guys firing it right up and driving away, and that's where a legitimate deal like Jason's so bad. If there was at least the chance of one of these 'spin and sit' wonders getting penalized, it would put a different spin on the urgency in the stand to get that caution flying..........Cause for the most part, it won't be the only time that particular car is in the middle of, or cause of another caution. my kid races in the charger class and our team rule is 'ya screwed up...take the medicine and get it moving"

I never mentioned Jason's deal, and from where we were, he got a raw one.
