MCR PREPARES FOR IRS LATE MODELS ON MAY 16

McKean County Raceway is preparing for one of the most anticipated nights on the 2008 schedule as the fledgling Independent Racing Series (IRS). The 3rd annual Dave Lundgren Memorial will be on tap, Friday, May 16 with a cool $5000 first place prize on the line. Also on tap will be a $750 to win United Emod Series event for the UEMS Emods, plus a regular show for the street stocks and mini stocks as Andrews Auto Salvage, Close Racing Supply, Close Lumber and VIP Gas bring you the night of action!
The IRS series is in its second full season and already the 2008 schedule is full of dates as the new series will make a early visit to MCR. Rob Blair of Titusville, PA, won the season opening IRS event and also won the last super late model event at MCR will lead the IRS contingent into MCR. West Virginia drivers, Tim Dohm and Mike Balzano are expected. Duane Chamberlain of Richmond, Indiana will be heading east to MCR. Fans can expect to see regional stars, Dave Hess Jr., Mike Knight and past MCR late model stars, Bob Close, Todd Andrews, David Scott, Boom Briggs, Dutch and Ron Davies all on hand to defend their home turf in the 50 lap event in memory of former late model track champion, Dave Lundgren.
The United Emod Series will be making their debut at MCR also on the same night. The UEMS inaugural event featured twenty-eight cars from three states on hand in early April. With local racing now underway, this event should draw a quality field of entries. Randy Hall of Olean, NY leads the UEMS series with his win at Mercer. He no doubt will have to fend off the challenges of Dave Hess Jr, Ohio driver, Jack Young, Shawn Shingledecker, Russ Dunn, Al Brewer and defending MCR champion, Rich Michael. The UEMS Emods will go 25 laps with $750 on the line.
The NE Micro and Graphic Street Stocks and the Hallock Enterprises - Amsoil Mini Stocks will also be on the Andrews Auto Salvage, Close Racing Supply, Close Lumber, VIP Dave Lundgren Memorial IRS night! The NE Micro and Graphic Street Stocks will be running the 21 lap Bill Layfield Memorial and it will be the first of the eight Border Clash events that will coinside with Little Valley Speedway.
Ticket prices for the IRS Dave Lundgren Memorial event are as follow: Family Pack (2 adults and 4 children ages 1-16) will be $35. Adult (age 17-61) $18, Sr Citizen (62+) $16, Youth (11-16) $10, children under ten will be admitted free and Pit Passes will be $30.
